The largest land animal in North America

Shortly after passing through Liard River Hot Springs in northern British Columbia, Julia and I got face to face with one of the largest animals in North America: the Wood Bison. Even bigger and heavier than its cousin in the Plains, the Wood Bison has a truly massive appearance. We counted over 30 of them, including several calves, as they slowly passed by our car. Most of them were calm, but some of the bulls were fighting every now and then, and we tried to stay at distance. Make sure to keep your eyes open when you come through the area to witness these endangered animals in their natural environment!
